PROVEN EROSION CONTROL METHODS

Alberta Hydroseeding utilizes a multitude of erosion control processes and applications to effectively establish and re-establish vegetation for commercial, industrial and municipal projects. Some methods we use include:

Method 1

ROLLED EROSION CONTROL PRODUCTS (RECP)

Rolled Erosion Control Products (RECP) include prefabricated blankets or netting formed using both natural and synthetic materials to control erosion and enhance vegetation establishment. In addition to limiting soil erosion, they aid in retaining soil moisture which promotes seed germination and also protect seeds and seedlings from heavy rainfall and high winds for better vegetation establishment.

Method 2

BONDED FIBRE MATRIX (BFM)

A Bonded Fibre Matrix (BFM) application conforms to the contours of the ground and dries to form a protective barrier for superior erosion control and vegetation establishment results. Difficult sites, slopes, and adverse soil conditions are effectively tackled using BFM applications. Once dry, the matrix can be hydrated repeatedly and will hold soil and seed without it washing away. As vegetation takes hold, the BFM slowly decomposes to further enrich the soil.

Method 3

SILT FENCES

For temporary sediment control applications, Silt Fences are placed around construction perimeters to contain soil during aggressive disturbances. This geo-textile material prevents sediment, silt and construction debris from contaminating streams, rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and other aquatic and terrestrial resources.

Method 4

STRAW WATTLES

Straw Wattles are an effective and economical alternative to silt fence and straw bales for sediment control and storm water runoff. The wattles consist of 100% agricultural straw wrapped in tubular ultra-violet stabilized synthetic netting.

Method 5

CATCH BASINS

Catch Basins protect and prevent sediment discharge from entering storm drains and sewage systems to ensure companies remain compliant with local storm water pollution prevention plans.
